Very interesting work and results.

It also would be interesting to see the memory footprints of the different solutions.

Wasn't it the US marine that moved back from touch screens to physical controls in their ships?

While the actual reason could be a case for discussions, the decision is correct in my humble opinion. The reason was, the loss of (I think) one destroyer, that crashed with a civil ship (a big freighter or tanker), because of misinterpretations of the steering control on the bridge of the destroyer.

In my humble opinion, when it comes to mission critical and distraction free control, nothing is better than physical control systems. In a good car, not only you have physical control systems, but also buttons and switches are of different shape or size or way of control (pressing, twisting, ...), so they can be identified simply by touching them.

Very good quote. I am very sorry, that I hear from my own country (Germany) that more and more laws come exactly from industry lobbyists without any serious review, because our politicians either lack the knowledge or interest to make any serious review.

Even worse, there are nearly nobody in public service than can review some topics (that is the reason, they more and more rely on the expertise of consulting companies when it comes to taxation and finance topics -- and the interest of the consulting companies also lies in reducing taxes for their private costumers ...).

I actually expected some elaborate work about the imperfection of Python.

What I got was a list that started with at least three points that are already obsolete, because only valid for Python 2, which is already declared obsolete.

Every language with some history has its humble start and is evolving. To carry the errors of the past is just not fair. You could of course drag along the first Java version and conclude that Java is bad -- but you would really invalidate your own opinion.

The German government did know about this stuff I think from 2002 or 2001 on, but still did not stop it until around 2012 in Germany and did not warn other countries, so it went on in those.

I just can not understand, how the government of my country could work this way. It really borders to actively supporting this scam.

In my opinion, not only the people that have done this (including many banks!), but also responsible persons in the government or ministries should take responsibilities.

But in Germany, if you are big enough or in government, you can do nearly everything without effects.

Banks already have looted the people of many countries in 2008/2009.

> But in Germany, if you are big enough or in government, you can do nearly everything without effects.

While I sadly agree, I would like to point out that this is true of many countries.

I wanted to speak only for my own country, while I sadly think, I must agree.

Thoughtcrime at its best.

The system wants to prevent the masses from thinking a different way, as the official way is.

This is 1984 and even better. By giving "credits" (gamification) the people are like the frog in the boiling water. When they recognize it, it is to late.

Is this the natural development of social media: Who does not conform to the masses, will be spit out by society?

Many dictators try to get their nations "in line" by using such tactics. "We are all one people -- we act as one people".

Is social media and gamification the solution for the wildest dreams of dictators?

Individualism must and will be killed in such a system. Only one Individuum can exist in the long run: The queen/king of the bee colony.

If here are some Leo people reading here:

The "Screen Shots" link is broken.

It should be: https://www.leoeditor.com/screen-shots.html

But currently it points to nowhere.

The output seems to be optimized for people with dark background color on the xterm.

Is there a possibility to have a different color scheme?

Yes

curl cht.sh/:styles-demo

select the best style for you, and use it in the queries.

curl cht.sh/:help

for more info.

Also, use the special client cht.sh which supports persitent configuration and many other useful features.

Thanks, that helps.

The main problems addressed in my opinion:

- Code duplication between server and client side

- Added complication threw data transmission between server and client (REST/json)

I think, both problems can be addressed by:

- having (a single) code that works both on server and client-side

- having transparent transport mechanisms for information between client and server.

I am sure, I could implement such a thing for Python/Django, using the already existing tools. But I am not sure, if such a thing would be appreciated by the community.

What do you think?
