Watch Case 2025.2.1

A few weeks ago I was trying to add a few new features to the app. That turned out a bit challenging since the codebase is quite large and if I’m not in it regularly, I need some time to untangle the logic. This week however I was tasked with fixing a bug spotted by a customer. That turned out to be a much better approach… and there is a chance I will spend a few more hours on the feature I wanted to add in January.

Pebble will be back. Can't wait...

I think I will have to revisit Watch Case

Something has happened the last few weeks. I do not post about Watch Case to often nor advertise it anywhere on the social media. It did however got some traction over the last few weeks. And by getting some traction I mean a few more downloads/subscriptions than usual.  I might have to revisit my plans of having the app on a cruise control over the next few weeks and actually do work on a few features I have on my to-do list. 

From Zero on rotation

A few weeks ago I got my first pair of real over the ears headphones. Nothing fancy but  oh man.... my music listening experience got so much better. I used to use Apple's earbuds for a few years now while those are great for podcasts... music just sounds flat.  And I just wanted to mention that the 'From Zero' album is sooooo goood.

I know I shouldn't invest my time into an app that works and doesn't need any more features.... but somehow I have an urge to spend some time on it and make a few tweaks. Maybe I could finally enable publishing of your own collection to the web?

New tricks

I'm trying a few new apps to enhance my daily setup. Specifically Raycast with its powerful extensions and Arc instead of Safari. My goal is to use more keyboard and less mouse.  Oh... and I had a week with heavy assets creation and optimization. For that Im using Clop. Works great so far.

September is coming

Uhh... it looks like September will be shamelessly good with a bit of code written by good friends :) So exciting!

August is almost over. As much as I love the summer and it is super fun to visit family and friends, I'm slowly getting ready to head back home. I miss my routine and it would be nice to have 5-6h of uninterrupted work time. 

Thinking about ads.

The more I read about how Google AdSense works, the more I'm realizing that all those small websites with flashy popups and annoying banners are just a plankton providing profiling for all of the big players. You do the dirty work and it's the high traffic websites who are then benefiting for well rounded visitor profiles. Tracking is evil and it pollutes the web with no real benefits for small publications.

I have lots of wonderful people around me who help me achieve my goals. I hope they know Im grateful and appreciate them a lot. 

Ok... back to work... starting Tuesday.

One more move and I might have a few solid days of work ahead of me.
