I wonder whether it is obvious that the exression $ \langle \widehat\Phi'(v(x)), \nabla_tv(x)\rangle$ is indeed independent of the connection (as long as it is metric). A similar "converse" phenomena happens for the codifferential $\delta$: If you fix a connection $\nabla$ on a bundle $E$, then for any $\nabla$-compatible metric, you get the same $\delta$ . | |
