App Insights Report

This report returns information on the apps installed on your devices, including their versions, permissions, and the level of risk they pose.
You can apply and configure a filter on the App Insights report to help you analyze the results. With the appropriate parameters applied, you can identify the following:
How many users are using an outdated version of an app
How many users are using the latest version of an app
How many users are using a specific app version
The permissions, URLs, and third-party libraries an app uses (for Android apps only)
Which apps are leaking data or have been side-loaded
How many apps have requested certain permissions
After you have configured a filter, click Save as to save it as a custom filter that can be used with the Threat Categories, Permissions, and App Categories values.
A graphical breakdown of applications installed on company devices by quantity, platform, and time period
- Total unique apps by platform—The number of unique apps on Apple mobile devices or Android devices
- Avg apps per device by platform—The average number of apps installed on Apple mobile devices and on Android devices
- New apps downloaded by week—A bar chart displaying the number of new apps (including updates to existing apps) downloaded and scanned on each device for a period of up to 3 months
- Apps installed in the last 7 days —A list of the apps installed in the last seven days, categorized by app name, OS, and number of installations
- App installations by category—A graph showing the app categories that are the most and least used in your organization
- Apps by risk level—The risk level shown is based on the most risky version of the app installed. Use the filtering tools to review the risk level for individual versions.
- Applications list—A full list of all applications installed, ordered by the number of installations
Use the following filters to view specific information about the apps in your application list.
- Saved filters—A list of any filters that were previously created and saved
- App name & app identifier —
Filter based on the name or identifier of an app.
- Platform—
Filter the application list by device OS, such as iOS, iPadOS, or Android.
- Threat categories—
Filter for specific threats, such as adware, ransomware, and spyware.
- Permissions —
Filter to display apps with specific device permissions, such as recording audio or detecting location.
- App categories—
Filter by the category of application, such as communication, education, finance, or gaming.
- App risk level—Filter by high, medium, or low risk level.
- Watchlist policy—Filter apps based on whether they are watchlisted or exceptioned.
- Custom filters—Search by key words or selections of your choice, and save custom filters for future use.
