地处亚热带的福州,气候温和、雨量充沛,为茉莉花生长提供了理想环境。据《中国植物志》记载,茉莉花2000多年前传入中国并落户福州,如今已成为福州市花。

Located in the subtropical zone, Fuzhou's mild climate and abundant rainfall provide ideal conditions for jasmine growth. According to Flora of China, jasmine was introduced to China over 2,000 years ago and took root in Fuzhou, now serving as the city's official flower.

"茉莉花花瓣本身不含香味,只有在开花时才会释放香气。"福州茉莉花茶南仙"十醉九星窨花阵法"第七代传人翁文峰解释道。花农通常在正午采摘茉莉花,待晚间花朵绽放时制作花茶,让花香与茶韵完美融合。

"Jasmine petals themselves are odorless, only releasing fragrance when blooming," explains Weng Wenfeng, seventh-generation inheritor of Fuzhou's "Ten Drunken Nine Stars Scenting Technique". Farmers typically harvest jasmine at noon and process it into tea when flowers bloom at night, achieving perfect harmony between floral aroma and tea essence.

Today, Fuzhou jasmine tea has been included in the first batch of China-EU Geographical Indications protection list, with its scenting technique added to UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in late 2022.
