Installed from source for testing recommended way to uninstall?

I could manually remove all installed files, but I would like to make uninstall

You don't need to make install. I never use make install to test fastfetch. I always run the generated binary in build folder directly.

Does the fastfetch target produce packages installable by package managers? If not, perhaps the wiki should also include cpack --verbose -G DEB # or any of TGZ, ZIP, DEB, RPM or something similar as a way to generate installable packages so people don't try to run cmake install or make install and instead rely on the package manager?

Yes. It's used for generating binaries in Github Release page. However if you just want to test fastfetch, I don't recommend to install it.

Sure in this case, but in general, if you are building with the intention to install it on your system, would be helpful to have that in the wiki too. Read my comment bellow for a case where that would've saved a lot of pain :P

Fun story, the first time I tried to build and install fastfetch from source, I realized I should've built a .deb package instead of using cmake install, so while trying to remove the old files, I managed to accidentally run sudo rm -rf /usr/bin/ fastfetch, note on the space between /usr/bin/ and fastfetch XD. Had "fun" time fixing my system after that.

Anyways, the wiki describes how to build fastfetch:

$ mkdir -p build $ cd build $ cmake .. $ cmake --build . --target fastfetch

However, the CMake file also has the package target:

$ mkdir -p build $ cd build $ cmake .. $ cmake --build . --target package

EDIT: cpack -G DEB should also work

Which is what I use to produce the fastfetch-*.deb package (or .rpm if you are on RHEL) which I then install using apt like any other package:

sudo apt install ./fastfetch-*.deb

Edit: And obviously, you can manage the package using apt like any other, which includes removing it.
