Purchased new ESP32 board and cannot open the Serial Port?

HI, purchased ESP32 32S NodeMCU Arduino Development Board 2.4GHz WiFi+Bluetooth Dual Mode

went to Installing ESP32 in Arduino IDE (Windows, Mac OS X, Linux) | Random Nerd Tutorials

and followed those instructions, but it fails saying NO Serial port

PORT is greyed out

have used alot of dev boards over the years, have an Arduino UNO and it connected up easily and worked. but this was over ebay, and had just the board. its connected by usb to a usb hub thing and a red light is on. There is not much about what it is besides the description there.

Any advice or ideas where to find connection and setup info are so appreciated thanks

I wonder if im using a CHARGER cable not a full usb cable...

it was the usb cable. Windows should make some sound when you first connect.

thanks to nobody, figured it out, may as well delete this entire thread. Or its ok, maybe if I can help others and know the answer to something I will just keep quiet and say nothing
