Export FOCUS Datasets from Amazon Web Services

Instructions

Step 1. Export FOCUS Data
Option 1: Create a FOCUS Data Export in the Billing and Cost Management console
Option 2: Use a CloudFormation template to automate creation of a FOCUS export and consolidate data from multiple accounts into one bucket

Step 2. Use FOCUS Data
Option 1: Use the CID command line tool to deploy a FOCUS dashboard
Option 2: Use the same CloudFormation template to automate the creation of an Athena table to query the data (you may have already set this up when exporting the data)

After obtaining FOCUS data and ingesting into Amazon Athena, visit the FOCUS Use Case Library to find SQL queries that answer common FinOps questions.

Conformance Gap Report

AWS offers a FOCUS Conformance Report indicating all of the conformance gaps that might exist in an export of the FOCUS 1.2 with AWS columns table.
