Liubao Tea has long been known as "blooming inside the wall while fragrant outside", with its export history dating back to the Han and Tang dynasties. According to Guangxi General Annals, Guangxi tea was already one of the main export commodities during the Han and Tang periods.
清朝初期，六堡茶正式成为"侨销茶"。清朝同治年间的《苍梧县志》记载："茶产多贤乡六堡，味厚，隔宿不变"。在鼎盛时期，六堡茶通过著名的"茶船古道"运往粤港澳及东南亚各地。
In the early Qing Dynasty, Liubao tea officially became "Overseas Chinese Sales Tea". The Cangwu County Annals from the Tongzhi period of Qing Dynasty recorded: "Tea is produced in Liubao, Duoxian Township, with rich flavor that doesn't change overnight." At its peak, Liubao tea was transported to Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macao and Southeast Asia via the famous "Tea Boat Ancient Route".
