According to legend, the Dragon Mother discovered the hard life of local people in Heishi Village, Liubao Town, Cangwu. She cultivated the first tea tree using the sweet spring water there. This tea tree later blossomed and bore fruit, and its seeds spread, gradually turning into tea forests all over Liubao Town.

清代中期，大批华工"下南洋"，将六堡茶带到马来西亚。当地华人移民主要来自三地：潮州客家人、福建闽南人和两广人。虽然各地移民偏好不同茶种，但六堡茶因其独特的功效逐渐被所有人接受。
In the mid-Qing Dynasty, large numbers of Chinese laborers "went to Southeast Asia", bringing Liubao tea to Malaysia. Local Chinese immigrants mainly came from three regions: Hakka from Chaozhou, Minnan from Fujian, and people from Guangdong and Guangxi. Although immigrants from different regions preferred different types of tea, Liubao tea was gradually accepted by everyone due to its unique effects.
