According to China News Network, Beijing, March 20 - The 2024 Beijing International Jewelry Fair opened grandly at the China National Convention Center on March 20, concurrently releasing the "2023 China Jewelry Industry Development Report" (hereinafter referred to as the "Report"). Organized by the China Gems & Jewelry Trade Association (GAC), the exhibition aims to create a multifunctional and comprehensive event integrating marketization, internationalization, specialization, and informatization.

中国珠宝行业进出口额创新高

China's Jewelry Industry Sees Record High in Import and Export Volume

《报告》指出,2023年中国珠宝行业进出口总额达1453.34亿美元,同比增长8.62%,创历史新高。其中,出口313.28亿美元,进口1140.06亿美元,分别增长4.08%和9.94%,连续三年实现双增长。

The "Report" pointed out that in 2023, the total import and export volume of China's jewelry industry reached $145.334 billion, a year-on-year increase of 8.62%, hitting a record high. Among them, exports were $31.328 billion, and imports were $114.006 billion, increasing by 4.08% and 9.94% respectively, achieving double growth for three consecutive years.

从贸易伙伴来看,美洲、大洋洲、欧盟、东盟等地区是中国珠宝行业的重要合作伙伴。2023年,除对日韩的进出口额有所下降外,中国与其他主要贸易伙伴的珠宝贸易总体保持稳定,与澳大利亚、南非、俄罗斯的贸易额增长显著。

In terms of trading partners, the Americas, Oceania, the European Union, and ASEAN are important partners of China's jewelry industry. In 2023, except for the decline in trade volume with Japan and South Korea, China's jewelry trade with other major partners remained stable overall, with significant growth in trade volume with Australia, South Africa, and Russia.

黄金、培育钻石和珍珠市场表现亮眼

Gold, Lab-Grown Diamonds, and Pearls Shine in the Market

《报告》显示,2023年中国黄金产品市场规模约5180亿元,同比增长26%。珍珠市场规模约350亿元,同比增长45.8%,三年平均增速达34.2%。培育钻石作为国际热点,中国在该领域的影响力与日俱增。

The "Report" shows that in 2023, China's gold product market size was approximately 518 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 26%. The pearl market size was about 35 billion yuan, up 45.8% year-on-year, with a three-year average growth rate of 34.2%. Lab-grown diamonds, as an international hotspot, have seen China's influence in this field grow steadily.

尽管中国珠宝行业在全球市场上竞争力强劲,但《报告》也指出,上游原材料领域仍存在“国际依存度高、话语权低”的问题。为此,《报告》建议重点扶持珍珠、培育钻石等民族产业,通过“补链强链计划”打造更具国际竞争力的产业链。

Although China's jewelry industry is highly competitive in the global market, the "Report" also pointed out that there are still issues of "high international dependence and low discourse power" in the upstream raw material sector. To address this, the "Report" suggests focusing on supporting national industries such as pearls and lab-grown diamonds, and building a more internationally competitive industrial chain through the "Supply Chain Strengthening Plan."
