Google Brings Targeted Advertising to TV
The Wall Street Journal reports: Recently, in Kansas City, Google has extended its data-driven advertising to the more traditional TV domain. The company first tested ad placements targeting users of local high-speed fiber and video services, matching ads based on geographic location, program preferences, and viewing history.

Like other companies, Google is experimenting with big data-driven advertising in the TV space. Ads in Kansas City will appear during regular commercial breaks alongside local TV station ads, in both live and recorded programs. Google stated that advertisers only pay for ads that are actually aired and can select specific play counts.
