China Development Network - In the first half of 2022, China's foreign trade export industry faced multiple pressures from both domestic and international fronts. Since March, frequent domestic COVID-19 outbreaks have affected major trade hubs like Shenzhen and Shanghai to varying degrees; global supply chain bottlenecks and disruptions persist, with energy and some raw material prices remaining high; inflationary pressures in major economies like the US and EU have further compressed demand; additionally, changing international situations and exchange rate fluctuations have introduced new risks and challenges.

Focusing on China's foreign trade export development in H1 2022, XTransfer jointly with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Commercial Sub-Council officially released the "SME Export Trade (B2B) Index Report for H1 2022", which includes three components: the "China Foreign Trade Export Leading Index", "China SME Export RCEP Regional Activity Index", and "China SME Foreign Trade Competitiveness Index".
报告指出中国外贸在2022年上半年实现了逆境中的稳步前进,预计下半年中国外贸出口将进一步稳中提速、稳中提质,将为下半年中国中小微外贸企业全球展业提供重要指引和策略制定依据。中国中小微外贸企业将释放更强的国际贸易竞争力。
The report indicates that China's foreign trade achieved steady progress against adversities in H1 2022, and is expected to further stabilize and improve in quality and speed in H2. This will provide important guidance and strategy formulation basis for Chinese SMEs' global operations. Chinese SME exporters are poised to demonstrate stronger international trade competitiveness.

据《2022年上半年中国外贸出口先行指数》,面对严峻复杂的外部环境和国内疫情多点频发带来的巨大挑战,中国中小微外贸企业不仅收获了一季度的平稳开局,还在二季度后半程迅速扭转了因疫情造成的指数下滑趋势,为全年外贸保稳提质打下了坚实基础。
According to the "China Foreign Trade Export Leading Index for H1 2022", facing severe external challenges and domestic COVID outbreaks, Chinese SME exporters not only achieved a stable start in Q1 but also quickly reversed the downward trend caused by the pandemic in late Q2, laying solid foundation for annual trade stability and quality improvement.
海关总署公布的最新数据显示,2022年上半年,中国进出口总值达3.08万亿美元,同比增长10.3%;出口1.73万亿美元,同比增长14.2%。2022年上半年中国外贸出口先行指数总体走势和去年保持一致,且相较于2021年上半年显著上升;此外,2022年上半年中国中小微外贸企业收款量同比增长15.3%,高于海关总署发布的全国出口金额同比增长14.2%的增幅。
Customs data shows China's total import-export value reached $3.08 trillion in H1 2022, up 10.3% YoY; exports totaled $1.73 trillion, up 14.2% YoY. The leading index maintained similar trend to 2021 but showed significant YoY growth. Notably, SME exporters' payment collection grew 15.3%, outperforming the 14.2% national export growth.

《区域全面经济伙伴关系协定》(RCEP)正式实施生效已满半年。《2022年上半年中国中小微外贸企业出口RCEP区域活跃指数》指出,向RCEP区域国家出口的中小微外贸企业数同比增长了23.1%。这说明RCEP落地生效半年来,政策红利逐步释放,为外贸企业降低关税成本、抢占国际市场提供了新机遇,更为中国外贸注入了源源不断的新活力。
The Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) has been in effect for six months. The RCEP Activity Index shows SME exporters to RCEP countries increased 23.1% YoY, demonstrating gradual policy dividend release that provides new opportunities for tariff reduction and international market expansion, injecting new vitality into China's foreign trade.
从出口目的地来看,中国中小微外贸企业RCEP区域出口额前三大目的地国家依次为:韩国、日本、越南;中国中小微外贸企业RCEP区域出口额增长率前三大目的地国家依次为:新加坡、菲律宾、印度尼西亚。
Top RCEP export destinations were South Korea, Japan and Vietnam by value, while Singapore, Philippines and Indonesia showed highest growth rates.

The Competitiveness Index shows SME exporters demonstrated remarkable flexibility and adaptability amid global trade turbulence, significantly improving competitiveness across three dimensions: buyer trust, product attractiveness, and operational efficiency.
报告通过对中小微外贸企业的调研,指出越来越多的中小微外贸企业具备一定的数字化能力,且部分中小微外贸企业上下游供应商分散在全国多地,有效地提升了抗风险能力;此外,中小微外贸企业开始注重打造自主品牌,"中国制造"对海外买家的吸引力持续增强;值得一提的是,出口商品结构进一步改善,朝着附加值更高以及产业链升级的方向发展,高技术、高附加值的出口产品竞争力逐步增强。
The report finds growing digital capabilities among SMEs, with geographically dispersed supply chains enhancing risk resistance. More SMEs focus on building proprietary brands, increasing "Made in China" appeal. Notably, export product structure continues upgrading toward higher value-added and technology-intensive products.
