Xfce Core

Core components of Xfce, like the window manager, desktop, panel and file manager.

• Exo
  Exo is an Xfce library targeted at application development. It contains various custom widgets and APIs extending the functionality of GLib and GTK+. It also ships utilities for defining preferred applications, mounting storage devices and more.
• Garcon
  An implementation of the freedesktop.org menu specification used in Xfce that only depends on GLib and GIO.
• Libxfce4ui
  Libxfce4ui is used to share commonly used Xfce widgets among the Xfce applications.
• Libxfce4util
  Utility library (non-GTK) for the Xfce desktop environment.
• Thunar
  The Thunar project aims to develop a new file manager. Thunar's main goal is to be fast, easy-to-use, and simple.
• Thunar-volman
  Volume Management integration for the Thunar File Manager, which provides automatic handling of removable drives and media.
• Tumbler
  A D-Bus thumbnailing service based on the thumbnail management D-Bus specification.
• Xfce4-appfinder
  The Xfce Appfinder is a program that searches your file system for .desktop files, and displays a categorized list of all the GUI applications on your system.
• Xfce4-dev-tools
  The development tools are a set of m4 macros for use in configure scripts.
• Xfce4-panel
  The Xfce Panel including all plugins shipped with the default panel installation.
• Xfce4-power-manager
  Power manager for Xfce.
• Xfce4-session
  The Xfce Session Manager controls the loading of applications when Xfce is started. It also handles logging out, shutting down, and rebooting.
• Xfce4-settings
  Settings manager of the Xfce desktop.
• Xfconf
  Xfconf is a flexible, easy-to-use configuration management system. While it was written with Xfce in mind, it is by no means Xfce-specific. This is NOT a place to file bugs about particular settings, or any settings dialogs. This is about the configuration management daemon, library, and related tools ONLY.
• Xfdesktop
  Xfdesktop is the desktop manager. It draws the backdrop, and creates an applications menu and a window menu when you right-click or middle-click on the desktop.
• Xfwm4
  The Xfce window manager that draws decorations (borders and title bar) around windows, controls the placement and behavior of windows, and governs how keyboard and mouse focus behaves in the desktop environment.

• Catfish
  Catfish is a versatile file searching tool. Catfish is a GTK+ search utility written in python. It's search is powered by find and locate, with search suggestions provided by zeitgeist.
• Gigolo
  Gigolo is a frontend to easily manage connections to remote filesystems using GIO/GVfs
• Mousepad
  Mousepad is a fork of the lightweight Leafpad text editor that aims to make it more Xfce-ish.
• Parole
  A Gstreamer based Media player.
• Ristretto
  Fast and lightweight image viewer for Xfce.
• Xfburn
  Xfburn is a simple CD burning tool.
• Xfce4-dict
  The Dict plugin allows you to look up definitions of words in a dictionary.
• Xfce4-mixer
  The Xfce mixer is a panel plugin and a standalone application that can be used to control sound volumes.
• Xfce4-notifyd
  A themable notification daemon implementing the freedesktop.org notifications specification.
• Xfce4-panel-profiles
  This application let's users switch between panel profiles (i.e. complete panel setups), allowing to store the currently created profile. Several profiles are shipped by default, but profiles can also be shared between users.
• Xfce4-screensaver
  xfce4-screensaver is a screen saver and locker that aims to have simple, sane, secure defaults and be well integrated with the desktop. This project is a port of MATE Screensaver, itself a port of GNOME Screensaver. It has been tightly integrated with the Xfce desktop, utilizing Xfce libraries and the Xfconf configuration backend.

  Application and panel plugin to take screenshots.
• Xfce4-taskmanager
  Easy to use task manager.
• Xfce4-terminal
  Xfce4-terminal is a modern terminal emulator with tab support and a drop-down window.
• Xfce4-volumed-pulse
  Fork of xfce4-volumed with support for PulseAudio
• Xfdashboard
  xfdashboard provides a GNOME shell dashboard like interface for use with Xfce desktop. It can be configured to run to any keyboard shortcut and when executed provides an overview of applications currently open enabling the user to switch between different applications. The search feature works like Xfce's app finder which makes it convenient to search for and start applications.
• Xfmpc
  Music Player Daemon (MPD) client written in GTK+.

• Xfce4-battery-plugin
  The Battery plugin displays the current charge on your laptop's battery, and warns you when it dips too low.
• Xfce4-calculator-plugin
  Calculator plugin for the Xfce panel
• Xfce4-clipman-plugin
  The Clipman plugin stores a history of items pasted to the clipboard for later retrieval.
• Xfce4-cpufreq-plugin
  The CPUFreq plugin allows you to view the CPU speed and CPU frequency scaling governor in use.
• Xfce4-cpugraph-plugin
  The CPU Graph plugin can display information about system resources in a variety of manners.
• Xfce4-datetime-plugin
  The datetime plugin displays the date and time (in a customisable format) and shows a calendar when right-clicked.

  The diskperf plugin displays performance-related information for hard drive partitions.

  Embed arbitrary windows into the panel

  The Eyes plugin embeds a pair of floating eyes into the panel, much like the standalone "xeyes" application.
• Xfce4-fsguard-plugin
  The FSguard plugin watches your partitions and displays colour-coded icons depending on how much free disk space remains.

  The GenMon plugin is a generic plugin that cyclically runs a specified script or program, and displays its output.

  Display information from various applications in the Xfce panel.
• Xfce4-mailwatch-plugin
  The Mailwatch plugin is a brand-new mail watcher plugin that support local mbox and maildir spools, as well as IMAP (secure and plain text).

  A mount/unmount utility for the panel.
• Xfce4-mpc-plugin
  A simple Musicpd client plugin for the Xfce panel.
• Xfce4-netload-plugin
  The netload plugin displays the current throughput of your network interfaces.

  The Notes plugin allows you to post "sticky notes" to your desktop.

  Provides a menu similar to the GNOME places menu. It contains special folders (such as home, desktop, trash) and things like GTK+ bookmarks.

Thunar Plugins

Plugins for the Thunar file manager.

• Thunar-archive-plugin
  Adds "Create Archive" and "Extract Archive" actions to the file managers context menu.
• Thunar-media-tags-plugin
  This plugin integrates TagLib into Thunar and provides a new page for the file properties dialog when viewing audio files, which allows the user to edit ID3 tags, and a renamer module, which allows the user to rename audio files using their ID3 tags.
• Thunar-shares-plugin
  A Thunar file manager extension to share files using Samba. The backend is based in nautilus-share plugin.
• Thunar-vcs-plugin
  Add support for SVN and GIT repositories to the file manager context menu.

  Airconfig is a cross-desktop wireless network configuration GUI written in plain C+GObject, with a Gtk+ GUI on top of it. Airconfig aims to be simple, small, and fast, and make use of other existing desktop infrastructure (such as D-Bus, HAL, and wpa_supplicant) to do most of its heavy lifting.
