Complimentary to my previous post, on intense use days (travel, etc) I usually charge when we stop for a meal or to rest a bit.

I have been reading a lot about devices batteries these days. But is that really an issue? I have a small anker brick that charges my iPhone from 30 to 80 in less than thirty minutes. And I also have a battery pack that does the same. And I can’t remember last time I had less than 20% on my iPhone.

Went to the Spoorwegmuseum today (aka The Train Museum) in Utrecht.

They are having special weekend with dozens of trains open for visit inside

False alarm about the heating. It was just a couple of sporadic nights.

I’ve been off social media for months. No plans to return, but I miss some people who microblog on Mastodon instead of their own blogs. RSS solves most of it, but I miss interacting with them. Still, not having a timeline is so, so nice.

Code yellow for wind all day today. The trees are having a hard time keeping up.

Oh nice! iOS 18.7 is out!! πŸ˜‰

Had to turn the heating on M’s bedroom just now. This marks the beginning of the heating season.

Last year it was in 11/09

Pedroblog is back to Micro.blog.

I went elsewhere for a while. I tried other services, they are fine. But they don’t come close to what Micro.blog offer. Yes, I wanted better URL control. But I take what I can get here and I prefer that than breaking URLs. 😁

I’m back!

Pedroblog is moving

I wrote about this recently and now it’s actually the time to start with the changes.

Pedroblog, this blog is moving hosts. The main reason is that I want to have better control of my URLs, making it easier to move around in the future. I have created an alias for the RSS feed, so if you are using blog.pcora.eu/feed.xml the RSS should pick up the changes and continue to work as the domain propagates to the new servers.

I am not erasing this blog for now, I am moving it to old.pcora.eu this Thursday. This way, all the old content will be kept online.

And lastly, the new Pedroblog is meant to be a slow blog. Don’t expect frequent posting, so you might be asking where you are going to see my nice photos? Glad you asked! I’m currently posting them on Glass. Which you can see on my profile page or by adding [_glass.photo/pcora/rss…](https://glass.photo/pcora/rss) to your feed reader.

I know the previous paragraph started with “And lastly”, but I have one more thing… Over a month ago, I wrote a post about leaving Mastodon. Ever since, I dropped my social.lol account, but resumed posting on @pedro@status.pcora.eu.

Well, turns out that using Micro.blog for a mastodon timeline works, but it’s not that great, at least not to me. So I am stopping with it. I’ll keep with the practice of following some people that use it as a micro blog using the RSS feed and I will occasionally post micro posts on Bluesky. I am @pcora.eu over there.

Hi, its been a while

I feel like an update is due. This blog is about to move to a different host. But I haven’t had much time to sit down and work on it properly. For now, I wanted to share that I have been posting daily(ish) photos on Glass. You can see all of them on this series: The Dailies.

As for the move, I’ll try to make as smooth as possible and will have an alias for the RSS feed. But just in case, I’ll write another post before flipping the switch.

Goodbye Mastodon

I have been spending time away from Mastodon and pretty much any other social network. While I have enjoyed being there for a while, I have this feeling of a relationship that is just wearing thin, until it breaks. And this is what happened to me.

I have seen at least three big dramas happening. One of them changed a lot how I and many people interact on these networks, secluded people and broke what seemed nice relationships between service owners. The most recent one, I just read all over via blogs and while lightly lurking around my instance.

This is when I decided that is time to get over it. I don’t think that Mastodon is different than other social media. At least not to me. And the fact that there are many small servers, with administrators, moderators, and their egos, it kinda makes it even worse. I know that there was a lot of negative things on twitter, but I was good at staying away from it as I was never around so much to read about it. It was just an information network that I would go to find out what was happening and move on with life. I think Bluesky is probably the replacement and I intend to use it the same way I used twitter in the past.

Right now I am adding some people that uses it as micro.blog to my RSS reader of choice as I like reading their posts, others I will just miss and that’s okay. There are more blogs, microblogs, photoblogs, and everything in between than I could ever keep up with, even if I had all the time in the world.

So long, and thanks for all the fish…

Cloudy evening

Granted, I took way less photos then I expected to. Most of the time was spent around our families and time flew by when we were having fun.

I came back to reflect on somethings, how to keep this blog, how to better organize how I present things online. The current schemes are not working much and I need to think about it.

Time to fly home. Photos Will come later this week, when I have time to sit down, select, upload and post. It was two busy weeks down here and I am happy to be returning home now.
