In the first half of 2023, China's steel exports showed strong growth, demonstrating the resilience of the steel industry. According to data from the China Iron and Steel Association, steel exports reached 43.58 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 31.3%, hitting a record high.

中国钢铁产品国际竞争力持续提升，高附加值产品出口显著增长。板材出口占比达到66%，创历史新高。马钢交材、天工国际等企业出口业绩亮眼，马钢交材出口销售收入同比增长34.9%，天工国际6月单月出口金额突破4000万美元。

The international competitiveness of Chinese steel products continues to improve, with significant growth in high-value-added product exports. Plate exports accounted for 66% of total exports, a record high. Companies like Ma Steel Wheel and Tiangong International reported outstanding export performance, with Ma Steel Wheel's export sales revenue increasing by 34.9% year-on-year, and Tiangong International's monthly export value exceeding $40 million in June.

中国钢铁工业协会会长谭成旭表示，行业将坚持稳中求进，推动高端化、绿色化、智能化发展。预计下半年钢材出口增幅将收窄，行业将重点研究创建产能治理新机制，提高产业集中度。

Tan Chengxu, president of the China Iron and Steel Association, said the industry will adhere to the principle of seeking progress while maintaining stability, and promote high-end, green and intelligent development. It is expected that the growth rate of steel exports will narrow in the second half of the year, and the industry will focus on studying the creation of a new capacity governance mechanism and improving industrial concentration.
