How Slow is "Snail Mail" USPS? eBay and Etsy previously "sounded the alarm" to sellers regarding USPS package delays, but some service providers have now analyzed the delay rates of USPS's sluggish logistics using hard data.
根据Shippo 7月和8月的数据显示,客户发的货物中,有24%的Priority Mail和17%的First Class货物“延误”,送达日期比原定的交货日期要晚。
According to Shippo's data from July and August, 24% of Priority Mail and 17% of First Class shipments were "delayed," arriving later than the originally scheduled delivery date.

After analyzing around 50,000 small and medium-sized packages out of tens of millions, Shippo found that compared to May and June, the overall delay rate for Priority Mail in July and August increased by 17.45%, with delivery times extended by 9.03%.
运送距离较短(跨1-4区)的Priority Mail邮件包裹所需时间有小幅度延长,5-8区运输时间延长较为明显。
Priority Mail shipments over shorter distances (zones 1-4) saw a slight increase in delivery time, while shipments over longer distances (zones 5-8) experienced more noticeable delays.
另外,相较于5月和6月,7月和8月 First Class Package延期交付情况总体上升了31.28%,平均所需时间延长了8.8%。
Additionally, compared to May and June, First Class Package delays in July and August increased by 31.28% overall, with an average delivery time extension of 8.8%.
对数据进行分析后,Shippo发现了一些延期问题较为严重的路线。其发言人表示,“Priority Mail在全国范围内的延迟率为24%,但仅马萨诸塞州(MA to MA)内的包裹延迟率就高达54%。另外,First Class Packages全国平均延误率为17%,但延误率前十的路线中有九位始发城市都在加州,其平均延误率接近30%。”
After analyzing the data, Shippo identified some routes with particularly severe delays. A spokesperson stated, "While the national delay rate for Priority Mail is 24%, the delay rate for packages within Massachusetts (MA to MA) is as high as 54%. Meanwhile, the national average delay rate for First Class Packages is 17%, but nine out of the top 10 delayed routes originate in California, with an average delay rate close to 30%."
