@mr_le0 the package wasn't yet updated, I was investigating the issue but it doesn't happen to me.

Btw I'm blindly applying the same fix for davinci-resolve-studio 20.2.2-1

The updated PKGBUILD can be found here: https://github.com/muflone/pkgbuilds/blob/master/davinci-resolve/PKGBUILD

Actually AUR is read-only for the oncoming DDoS

IMPORTANT!

Since version 19.1.3-2 this package will not download automatically the source file from the upstream site.

To build this package you will need to manually download the file from https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/support/family/davinci-resolve-and-fusion and place it in the same directory with the PKGBUILD.

This would reduce the mess in this package, making it more readable and clear. Also bypassing the required information from the upstream URL is not allowed in an automated way.

Qt5 is EOL since May and qt5-webengine ships an outdated, vulnerable Chromium version. This is why the package was dropped from the official repos.

If no one adopts the package, it will probably only take a few weeks to break. So slow download speeds is the least of the problems, unfortunately.

RainOrigami commented on 2025-11-10 01:36 (UTC)

The dependency to qt5-webengine (orphaned) is causing great pain. The source of this package (code.qt.io) is motherboard vendor website driver download speed type of slow. And the repo is huge, even with depth=1 it's barely functioning.

Are there viable alternatives? It's sad to see that the one good alternative to adobe on linux is a pain to install with all the manual intervention but even more so if the dependant code is hosted on a hamster powered esp32 server on some island in the middle of the pacific.

I also got `_ZNSt3__14cerrE' error.

Tried the solution by @Muflone found in the davinci-resolve-studio comments, which worked for me! He linked to the PKGBUILD for the studio edition but you can find the non-studio PKGBUILD in his github repo as well.

the package is for version 20.2.1 but the "only" downloadable version is 20.2.2, how important is a minor version like that ? can we just rename the zip and hope for the best ?

I'm not experiencing the libc++/libc++-abi defect. I was experiencing with davinci-resolve-studio and it fixed for me with the package 20.2.2-1

Temporary solution: Download this files https://archive.archlinux.org/packages/l/libc++/libc%2B%2B-20.1.6-2-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst and https://archive.archlinux.org/packages/l/libc++abi/libc%2B%2Babi-20.1.6-2-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst Extract to a temporary folder and copy the contents of usr/lib/ to /opt/resolve/libs/

@lostpacket

Thank you so much! Your downgrade solution worked for me! I used a different method to downgrade, but all the same thank you again for the find.

For those with

/opt/resolve/bin/resolve: Symbol _ZNSt3__14cerrE' has different size in shared object, consider re-linking /opt/resolve/bin/resolve: Symbol _ZNSt3__14coutE' has different size in shared object, consider re-linking Segmentation fault (core dumped)
