The status of the Abkhaz language as an official language

Asked by User

The Abkhaz language is the official language in the Republic of Abkhazia and in Georgia in the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia. The website [translations.launchpad.net] states that "Abkhazian is not registered as being spoken in any country", which is not true.

I assume that you are referring to the page https://translations.launchpad.net/+languages/ab
I agree that this should be corrected

In any case, some translations to Abkhaz language are already there, see e.g. https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/noble/+lang/ab

I have updated the entry and it now shows that is spoken in Georgia. "Republic of Abkhazia" is not yet included in our list of countries, and when having a look at the wikipedia entry https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abkhazia it is not clear to me whether we include partially recognized countries.

I will try to get confirmation.
