how do i report a bug as being solved?

i reported bug 978658 when my computer failed to shut down, and then i lost the clock on my unity panel. i have since decided that rather than being a bug, it was a result of my having uninstalled some necessary files during a series of installsion, removals, and ujpgrades, having conintued that instance of 12.04 from alha 1 through beta 2. tonight i rejpalced that instance of ubuntu with a new daily build of precise. everything seems to work fine now. i returned to the bug that i had reported, but was unable to find a jplafce where i could suggest that this bug might have been solved. is there a better way for me to comment on bugs that i have reported?
