1976年，为规范出口市场，云南省茶叶公司制定了统一的唛号系统：

- 饼茶(4位数)：前两位代表生产工艺年份，第三位是主料等级，第四位是茶厂编号(昆明1，勐海2，下关3，普洱4)
- Cake Tea(4 digits): First two digits represent production year, third digit indicates main material grade, fourth digit is factory code (Kunming 1, Menghai 2, Xiaguan 3, Pu'er 4)
- 散茶(5位数)：前两位是生产年份，中间两位是原料等级，最后一位是茶厂编号
- Loose Tea(5 digits): First two digits are production year, middle two indicate material grade, last digit is factory code
