由于非洲的大部分国家都处于热带草原气候，羽绒服和大棉袄他们一般情况下就用不到。人们就会先把羽绒和棉花拆下来分别处理，再把棉布出口国外。拆下来的棉布可以作为墩布或劳保手套，回收的羽绒也可以作为衣服的填充物。
