A city rises because of a pair of shoes, Wenzhou shoes stride into the world! Since Wenzhou was awarded the title of "China's Shoe Capital" in 2001, this golden signboard has been continuously polished. After more than 20 years of trials and tribulations, "China's Shoe Capital" has recorded the entrepreneurial journey of a generation of Wenzhou people who "dare to be the first and endure hardships".

传统产业浴火蝶变。1987年杭州武林广场的"耻辱之火"让温州鞋被打上"劣质"标签。但温州人痛定思痛,370多位鞋厂厂长联名倡议抓质量、兴科技。2000年,温州鞋革行业产值已达283亿元,占全国四分之一产量。

Traditional industry rises from the ashes. The "shame fire" at Hangzhou Wulin Square in 1987 labeled Wenzhou shoes as "inferior". But Wenzhou people learned from their mistakes, with over 370 factory directors jointly advocating for quality and technology. By 2000, Wenzhou's footwear industry output value reached 28.3 billion yuan, accounting for a quarter of national production.

产业聚集效应显著。温州现拥有5000余家鞋企,从业人员超50万,年产量超18亿双。配套产业链企业超10000家,形成了完整的产业生态。2021年,"温州鞋类号"中欧班列开通,为温州鞋走向世界开辟新通道。

Remarkable industrial agglomeration effect. Wenzhou now has over 5,000 footwear enterprises, employing more than 500,000 people with annual production exceeding 1.8 billion pairs. The supporting industrial chain includes over 10,000 enterprises, forming a complete industrial ecosystem. In 2021, the "Wenzhou Shoes" China-Europe freight train opened a new channel for Wenzhou shoes to go global.
