中国互联网先驱瀛海威:死后15年仍有3000人怀念的"互联网坟场"
1995年,当中国互联网还是一片荒漠时,瀛海威信息通信有限责任公司(简称瀛海威)作为中国第一家互联网民营企业诞生了。创始人张树新在中关村立起的那块著名广告牌——"中国人离信息高速公路有多远,向北1500米",成为中国互联网发展史上的里程碑。
In 1995, when China's internet was still a wasteland, Yinghaiwei Information Communication Co., Ltd. was born as China's first private internet company. The famous billboard erected by founder Zhang Shuxin in Zhongguancun - "How far are Chinese people from the information highway? 1500 meters north" - became a milestone in the history of China's internet development.
如今,这家比搜狐早成立三年、曾被马云评价"听不懂其观念"的公司已消亡15年,却在一个名为"去日留痕"(www.oihw.com)的网站上获得了另一种形式的永生。这个被称为"互联网坟场"的网站,保存着超过3000条来自中国第一代网民的留言。
Today, this company that was founded three years earlier than Sohu and was once commented by Jack Ma as "can't understand its concepts" has been dead for 15 years, but has gained another form of eternity on a website called "Traces of the Past" (www.oihw.com). This so-called "internet graveyard" preserves over 3,000 messages from China's first generation of netizens.
中国互联网的"领跑衫"
The "Leading Shirt" of China's Internet
财经作家吴晓波在《大败局》中这样描述张树新:"迅速地穿上了领跑衫,跑在了还显得稀稀拉拉的中国互联网长跑队伍的最前头。"1996年,瀛海威推出的"瀛海威时空"网络是国内唯一面向普通家庭开放的大众信息服务网络。
Financial writer Wu Xiaobo described Zhang Shuxin in "The Great Failures" as: "Quickly put on the leading shirt and ran at the front of the still sparse Chinese internet long-distance running team." In 1996, Yinghaiwei launched the "Yinghaiwei Space" network, which was the only mass information service network open to ordinary families in China.
用户注册后,通过兑换信用点即可享受论坛、邮局、咖啡屋等多种服务。郭万盛在《奔腾年代》中回忆:"进入瀛海威时空,你可以阅读电子报纸,到网络咖啡屋同不见面的朋友交谈,到网络论坛中畅所欲言。"
After registration, users could enjoy various services such as forums, post offices, and coffee houses by exchanging credit points. Guo Wansheng recalled in "The Roaring Years": "Entering Yinghaiwei Space, you can read electronic newspapers, talk to unseen friends in online coffee houses, and speak freely in online forums."
从辉煌到落幕
From Glory to Decline
1998年数据显示,"瀛海威时空"注册用户超6万人,日均访问量超50万人次。然而好景不长,张树新于1998年离开公司,她总结失败原因:"我们本来是要卖面包的,后来我们要从种麦子做起。而卖面包的利润却无法负担种麦子的成本。"
Data from 1998 showed that "Yinghaiwei Space" had over 60,000 registered users with daily visits exceeding 500,000. However, the good times didn't last long. Zhang Shuxin left the company in 1998, summarizing the reason for failure: "We were originally going to sell bread, but later we had to start by growing wheat. However, the profits from selling bread could not cover the cost of growing wheat."
2004年,瀛海威因年检逾期被吊销营业执照。但故事并未结束——前员工林兴陆于2002年创建"去日留痕"网站,成为瀛海威老用户的"精神家园"。
In 2004, Yinghaiwei had its business license revoked due to overdue annual inspection. But the story didn't end there - former employee Lin Xinglu created the "Traces of the Past" website in 2002, which became the "spiritual home" of Yinghaiwei's old users.
互联网时代的"时间胶囊"
The "Time Capsule" of the Internet Era
这个原始得近乎简陋的留言板网站,保存着中国第一代网民最朴素的情感。有人在这里寻找失散多年的网友,有人留下"20年后再见"的约定,还有00后留言:"第一次认识这个网站,18岁,希望网站一直在。"
This primitive, almost crude message board website preserves the simplest emotions of China's first generation of netizens. Some come here to look for long-lost online friends, some leave appointments to "see you again in 20 years", and some post-00s leave messages: "First time knowing this website at 18, hope it stays forever."
老用户"大胃杜"将瀛海威比作美国的66号公路:"人们开始怀旧了,又觉得老的东西好玩了。"如今,"去日留痕"已不仅是纪念瀛海威的网站,更成为许多网民的私藏"树洞"。
Old user "Big Stomach Du" compares Yinghaiwei to America's Route 66: "People began to feel nostalgic and found old things fun again." Today, "Traces of the Past" is not just a website commemorating Yinghaiwei, but has become a private "tree hole" for many netizens.
林兴陆表示:"只要我的主机还在,我的域名没有问题,它就会一直都在。"这个特殊的"互联网坟场",将继续见证中国互联网文化的传承与变迁。
Lin Xinglu said: "As long as my host is still there and my domain name has no problems, it will always be there." This special "internet graveyard" will continue to witness the inheritance and changes of Chinese internet culture.
