Augusto Solano, President of Asocolflores, stated: "We exported 300,000 tons of flowers in 2021, achieving $1.73 billion in exports - a 22% increase from 2020 and 17% from 2019." This growth stems from rising demand, improved grower efficiency, and enhanced customer service.

The US remains the primary export market. The biggest 2021 challenge was air cargo shortages, prompting exporters to develop sea freight alternatives. Miami port flower imports grew 66% year-over-year, with Florida ports up 40%. Solano noted: "Though sea freight accounts for under 10% currently, it has tremendous growth potential."
