Power Up is back for its 3rd year at Rundle Mall Plaza! Join Team AVCon and Rundle Mall Plaza for two action-packed days of gaming, cosplay, prizes, and fun – all completely free!

Highlights:

★ Two daily cosplay competitions with prizes up for grabs

Friday Schedule
5:00pm – Doors Open – with gaming, stalls, kids’ zone and scavenger hunt available until 9:00pm!
6:00pm – DJ Set in Rundle Mall
6:15pm – Dance Group Performance
6:20pm – AVCon 2026 Theme Reveal
6:30pm – Cosplay Parade/Competition with $500 gift card prize
7:00pm – Mario Kart World Tournament with $150 Gift Card + Prize Pack
8:00pm – Shin Tokyo Scavenger Hunt Bonus Level Pokemon Booster Pack for the first 100 people at the Scavenger Finish point!

Saturday Schedule

Cosplay is about having fun and at Power Up everyone’s invited to join in!
It’s not just about the costume… it’s about the character, the energy, and the fun!

Sign up and competition will be in Rundle Mall outside Rundle Mall Plaza @ the Scavenger Hunt starting point.

Competition Rules
Sign-Up
• Entrants must register at the Scavenger Hunt Start in Rundle Mall before the competition time from 5:00PM on Friday and 10:00AM on Saturday.

Judging Criteria
• Stage presence: How confidently and enthusiastically you present yourself.
• Creativity & fun: How you interpret your character (humour, personality, unique flair).
• Crowd engagement: How much the audience enjoys your performance/look.
• Overall impression: Energy, confidence, and fun factor.
Note: Judging is not based on craftsmanship, accuracy, or likeness to the character. Store-bought, handmade, mashups, or casual cosplays are all welcome.

Age Groups
• All ages welcome. Children under 12 must be accompanied by a guardian.

Safety
• No real weapons, sharp props, or anything that could endanger participants or crowd.
• Props must be safe.

Prizes
• Prizes will be announced and handed out by the Scavenger Hunt Start point in Rundle Mall at 7:00pm Friday 12 September & 2:30pm Saturday 13 September.
• 1 x $500 JB Hi-Fi voucher awarded each day to the entrant who best embodies the fun spirit of cosplay.
• Judge’s decision is final.
