Wo~ow...
July 31, 2015
Nearly another year has come and gone since my last post. Sheesh.
Reflection time! My previous year of teaching English was okay...students were okay... I'm itching to say more negative things about what's happened with this past year of teaching, but it's probably not worth it at this point.
Plus side: I will be teaching Japanese this year, which is what my certification is in. Awesome! I think I got incredibly lucky (or blessed) because the previous Japanese teacher just chose to retire last year, so I was able to snatch that position.
Since school just started, I can't really say much about now. I'm nervous and excited, so I'm crossing my fingers for a good school year!
Highlight of the day: since I had to move to a different classroom, I'm still unpacking all that was moved. As I was unloading a PC monitor with various cables attached to it, something JUMPED out from the pile of wires, and onto my thigh (yay for jeans!). At first I thought it was a huge, ugly cockroach. I'm incredibly afraid of roaches, so naturally I freaked...
"OH MY GAWD...!!!"
...luckily, it was just a tiny gecko trying to get away. Phew! Still gave me quite a shock. It scurried away into the corners of the room, but later on it reappeared and I was able to coax it to jump out the window and into a bush. Nice.
