Fortran is a general-purpose, procedural, imperative, and object-oriented programming language that is especially well suited to numeric computation and scientific computing. The current standard is Fortran 2003 2018 , although many of its features have not been implemented in all maintained compilers yet, yet. withFortran 95 still being the most widely used in practice.
