Day 1279 : Blind

liner notes:

  • Professional : Today flew by! Had a couple of meetings in the morning. I then went to the community channel to see if anyone had questions, and questions did they have! haha There were a few questions that really racked my brain to come up with responses. My brain was pretty fried and I did a little more work on my project and end of year review.

  • Personal : I think I'm done coding the dashboards. I had a final round of talks with Google's Gemini to make sure I didn't miss anything. I sent it some screenshots and it actually caught something. I forgot to update a value on one of the pages and we worked together on getting it working. We decided that it would be best to update the value when an order is placed because it could cause a lot of reads if done on the dashboard if I have a bunch of orders. Going through some other things, I learned about a bunch of new to me Firestore features. One was the aggregate feature, were you can add up and count a bunch of data when making a request to the database. Before, I was making calls to the individual orders in a loop and adding up the totals. It's been a while since I've used Firebase because most of my recent personal projects are pretty basic and don't need a database or authentication because most of the time all the functionality is done in the browser. It was cool to learn about some new tools I can have in my back pocket for future projects. Last night, I also picked the projects I'll pick up on Bandcamp this week and put together a list. I didn't buy them yet because it's Bandcamp Friday and artists see more money from each sale.

A dramatic coastal scene with towering, steep cliffs covered in lush green Mediterranean vegetation plunging directly into the deep blue sea. A small, secluded cove below features vibrant turquoise water and a pebble beach, creating a striking contrast with the darker ocean beyond. The setting appears to be the Ionian Islands, specifically Corfu, Greece.

As for the dashboards, I want to switch out the test Stripe keys for the live ones and make sure the checkout screen doesn't have "test" on it. All that is left on my to-do list is to review the product prices, create the client account in the dashboard, take product photos, create products in Stripe and copy that info into my dashboard when I create the products there. I'm going to create the client account right after eating dinner. Then I'm going to work on the radio show for this week and then go over the prices I'm looking to charge for these products. I'm factoring in the cost of items used and even the things I need to ship the items. When I take the product photos tomorrow, I'm going to ask Gemini to see what it thinks and how close I am and if there's anything that I'm forgetting or didn't think of. This AI stuff has been really eye opening and showing me some blind spots that I had.

Have a great night!

peace piece
